Tom Gillihan — President
A native Portlander and 20-year veteran of high-technology companies including Sharp Laboratories and Advanced Technologies International, Tom is the President of Sterling Communications. His broad and balanced background covers technology and operations, affording him the skills necessary to oversee general management, operations, sales, and marketing for the company. Tom is involved with a variety of non-profit organizations, providing Internet connectivity and acting as a business advisor.
Bill Anderson — VP of Engineering/CTO
With a background that includes such noteworthy companies as Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), Compaq, and Intel, Bill has led Sterling's technology department since joining the firm in 2000. Bill was involved with key technology implementations at Intel, Amazon.com, ADP, and VoiceStream. He has a broad knowledge of key technology areas such as Unix, Storage, Networks, and Microsoft Operating systems.
In addition to Tom and Bill, the following executives are key to the successful management of Sterling Communications.
Charlie Johnson — Advisor
A long-time sportsman and commercial real estate executive, Charlie joined Sterling as an advisor and shareholder during the company's infancy. In 1993, he started Fore-Sight Enterprises, Inc., which developed, owns, and operates Tualatin Island Greens Golf Center, opened in 1995. Island Greens was awarded "Best New Driving Range in America" in 1995 and has been rated one of the top 100 ranges ever since. Aside from running his company and enjoying time with his family, he currently sits on boards for various non-profit/ministry organizations.
John Hall — Advisor
An executive for sales, marketing, and business development departments for 18 years, John is currently Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Ethicspoint, Inc., a company that provides confidential reporting systems for ethics compliance. The last 10 years of his career have been focused on developing early-stage start-up companies such as BLT Technologies (WorldCom Prepaid), UniCru, and PreNet Corporation.
Seth Buechley — Advisor
Seth has more than 13 years experience in executive management leadership roles in the wireless industry, which led to his Vice Chairman role with Washington Oregon Wireless (WOW), an affiliate of Sprint. In 2003 he formed BizDev Network, a company providing initiative and strategic relationships for emerging companies. Previously, he was the business development officer for a large investment company.
