Trends in Telecom
What You Need to Know About VoIP Costs

Many companies that implemented VoIP early did so because of its real or perceived cost savings over traditional telephony. In many cases, they did find substantial savings by eliminating costly third-party contracts for moves, reducing the amount of cabling required in new buildings, or leveraging idle capacity in their data networks. Those savings existed, but so did additional costseffectively negating any net savings for the first 12 to 18 months.

“Most IT executives cannot calculate accurate costs until they are well involved in their rollouts, particularly with respect to start-up and ongoing operational costs.*”

What are Typical VoIP Costs?

Upfront Costs = equipment and software ($588 per user in startup costs)
Monthly Services/Fees – access and connections
Ongoing Expenses – moves, adds & changes, upgrades, help desk support,
on-going training and service calls  ($473 per user average per year)

The Sterling Difference
Unlike some other providers, Sterling makes sure you aren’t surprised with hidden costs. The Sterling Difference: No Upfront Cost, No Ongoing Expense, just one small Monthly Service Fee.
