Call My Email.

SterlingVOICE™ can help you multitask by providing a unique way to organize your phone calls through your desktop computer.

The pop up window gives you the caller's ID, tracks the path of each call and supplies a list of instant call handling options. These include sending the caller to voice mail, transferring to an inside extension or outside line, toggling between calls, all without actually picking up the phone.  This gives you the ability to prioritize your work flow.

If you happen to miss a call, the Call Manager will notify you with an email in the form of an audio file. This email allows for multiple options. You can listen, fast forward, and rewind the message, along with forwarding it to one or multiple email addresses. And it gives you one button to click to call the sender back.

The technology of VoIP can increase the efficiency of your business by giving you the tools to prioritize and multi-task.

Tech Tip
Five Handy MS Word Keyboard Shortcuts.

We all want to be faster and more efficient. Even if you have been using MS Word for years, there are a few shortcuts you might not be using.

Select the last word you typed - CTRL + SHIFT + LEFT ARROW
Useful if you messed up the last word and want to quickly re-type it without having to press backspace. You can keep pressing the arrow to select more words to the left.
Start up the proofing engine - F7
Instantly
checks your spelling and grammar. No need to keep right clicking on each red line! The engine will go through all of the mistakes in the current document.
Automatic line spacing - CTRL + 1, 5, or 2
Pressing CTRL and then one of these numbers will automatically space the paragraph to either single (1), 1.5 (5) or double-space (2). You can use this one in conjunction with CTRL + A to double-space your entire doc.
Instant hyperlink - CTRL + K
Will either take your highlighted text and make it into a hyperlink or will allow you to create your own hyperlink from scratch.
Quick align - CTRL + L, E, or R
Aligns the line of selected text to the left, center, or right of the screen.

We Want to Know
Monthly Survey

Last month we asked our readers about their likes and concerns about VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Here are the results:

When asked about the importance of VoIP to your business, the following benefits were rated “Very Important” (95%):

  • VoIP integrates easily into our existing network
  • There's a fail-safe back-up system that ensures our phone service will never be interrupted.
  • The VoIP system increases productivity

Readers were less interested in having flexibility for employees to work from home.

For readers who do not subscribe to a VoIP service, biggest concerns (90%) when considering VoIP were overall cost of system, reliability of the service, and possible difficulty of integration with existing networks.
Readers were less concerned about quality of voice and understanding the technology.

We'd like to know how you typically screen your calls.
