AI For Everyone
In our last post, we demystified the world of artificial intelligence (AI), breaking down the buzz brought on by recent developments related to this transformative technology. In this post, we thought we’d get practical; what’s the point of all these advancements if they don’t make our lives better, right?
In less than a year, a myriad of applications have surfaced in the artificial intelligence landscape, with generative AI stealing the spotlight. These programs are able to anything from generating written content, to facilitating brainstorming sessions, to polishing and refining your writing. Other applications are using AI to create images, audio, and video too. Heck, they can even help code!
Companies are swiftly adopting these AI-driven tools: Adobe Photoshop now has the ability to reinvent aspects of images, WordPress can autonomously craft blog posts, and now even programming environments are employing AI for automated code generation and optimization. Once it’s released, Windows CoPilot aims to be your virtual assistant, able to search the web, answer questions, and change settings—all by just typing out a few words.
Today, we thought we’d spotlight the star of the show for these recent developments: OpenAI’s ChatGPT program. Released in November of last year, the program took the world by storm as millions of people logged on to use it. By January 2023, it had become the fastest-growing consumer software application in history, gaining over 100 million users and contributing to OpenAI's valuation growing to $29 billion.
The only major current competitor is Google’s Bard AI, but we expect the market to be flooded with competition soon, as everyone dives headfirst into this incredible technology.
But what all can ChatGPT do, and how can you benefit from using it?
To showcase this, we decided to let ChatGPT speak for itself: we asked the program to list different ways it can be used, write good prompts for those use cases, then answer it’s own prompts. Then we sat back, poured another cup of coffee, and—wait, it’s already done?

Ya, we were impressed too. Whether it’s writing a fantasy novel or a business plan, or anything from financial to fitness advice, ChatGPT is proving itself to be an incredible new asset. It does have a tendency to provide inaccurate answers from time to time, so make sure to do your own fact-checking. The future of this technology promises a series of simultaneous industry-wide innovative disruptions, and we’re excited to see where it goes.
Like we said before, generative AI can also make multimedia content, so we thought we’d use Midjourney, a generative AI art tool, to come up with “The VoIP phone system of the future.”

There are a plethora of other image generators out there, like Stable Diffusion, DALL.E 2, and Adobe Firefly. We encourage you to try these out and see the magic for yourself!
There are also plenty of applications going even further, building on generative AI to do some pretty cool stuff. Here’s a few examples:
OtterAI allows you to chat live with Otter and teammates in your work meeting, ask questions, and get answers instantly… about the meeting itself. It creates a live transcript of the meeting, takes notes and highlights key points, and can catch teammates up who had to join a little late.
ElevenLabs has launched Voice Library, a community platform for creating, sharing, and exploring synthetic voices. The platform utilizes Eleven's proprietary Voice Design tool to generate unique, multilingual voices based on parameters such as age, gender, and accent. Users can share their created voices and use voices shared by others for a variety of applications
