This page is a log of the outages that have occurred at Sterling Communications. It's a quick and easy way to check to see if we're experiencing any trouble in the computer room or on the network at large, without having to make a phone call. It is organized with the latest report being at the top for quick reference.

- Web Server: Mar 05, 2008, 11:36AM - 11:36AM: Sterling Customers hosted on one of our Windows based servers are experiencing web site abnormalities. We have taken the server off line to correct the problem, and hope to have it back on line soon. Total Downtime: 0 minutes.
- Sterling Voice: Nov 12, 2007, 9:53AM - 12:08PM: Sterling customers on the Sherwood fiber network had an outage due to a power failure in Sherwood which caused an outage in the Sherwood CO. Total Downtime: 135 minutes.
- Web Server: Nov 05, 2007, 1:04PM - 1:43PM: There was a fan failure in one of our Apache web servers which caused an outage for web sites on that server for about 1/2 hour while we changed the fan. All systems are back on line and running fine.Total Downtime: 39 minutes.
- Firewall Maintenance: Apr 04, 2007, 11:57PM - 12:07AM: Performance upgrades applies to traffic shaper and both the primary and secondary firewall systems.Total Downtime: 10 minutes.
- Email server Maintenance: Apr 20, 2006, 11:59PM - 1:59AM: The primary and secondary email servers will be updated this evening from Midnight to 2am. Email services will be sporadic during this window.Total Downtime: 120 minutes.
- Email slowness: Jan 26, 2006, 2:54PM - 3:39PM: If you have email hosted by Sterling, we experienced an abnormal slowdown in email delivery. We were able to identify and fix the problem with no loss of email.Total Downtime: 45 minutes.
- DOS Attack: Sep 30, 2005, 10:08AM - 11:38AM: We have identified an issue causing intermittent internet outages. The issue was a denial of service attack worm. We have put a fix in place to remedy the situation.Total Downtime: 90 minutes.
- Web server issue: Sep 13, 2005, 11:37AM - 12:37PM: We experienced some brief interruptions on some web pages hosted on one of our servers due to problems with that specific server. No content was lost during the repair process. We have fixed this problem and all web sites are up and active at this time.Total Downtime: 60 minutes.
- Planned Maintenance: Mar 24, 2005, 11:55PM - 12:55AM: Thursday evening we will upgrade the new Sterling Voice system with the V1.2 updates. This maintenance is scheduled for midnight 3/24/2005, and will last about an hour.Total Downtime: 60 minutes.
- DOS Attack: Oct 07, 2004, 8:10AM - 3:10PM: We experienced a Denial of Service Attack from the internet that caused severe slow downs and sporadic outages. The issue has been resolved. Total Downtime: 420 minutes.
- Dialup / ISDN phone line outage: Apr 20, 2004, 4:07AM - 6:07AM: Four of our PRI's have been inadvertently dropped out of the primary hunt group. This results in BUSY signals for our dialup and ISDN clients. Verizon is currently working on it and will have it fixed shortly. If you dial the individual numbers directly: 605-1510, 605-1511, 605-1512, 605-1513 you get right in. Resolved as of 5:45am. Total Downtime: 120 minutes.
- Planned Outage: Oct 26, 2003, 4:30AM - 5:00AM: We will have a brief outage at 4:30AM on Sunday October 26th for about 30 minutes. This outage will only effect customers with DSL or Frame-Relay service through Verizon. If you have any problems with your connection after than time, please call and leave a message at (503) 504-4767.Total Downtime: 30 minutes.
