“Loving our clients and taking unbelievable care of them.” That’s how Tom describes life at the company he founded in 1997. What he enjoys most about his job is having, as he says, “the flexibility to accomplish great things for our clients.” Keeping a healthy spiritual outlook is of the utmost importance to him. For Tom, a weekend escape to a beachfront cabin with his family and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon is what he calls R&R.

For Bill, as a sports bike and fly fishing enthusiast, it's all about the journey, exploring the countryside and discovering scenery that you just can't fine along the highway. That same sense of wonder moves him to work with customers to meet complex technology challenges that deliver real value. And when his work is done? It's home to indulge his other great pastime: watching his kids play sports.

Operations & Administration


Mary wears many hats in the company, providing operations functions for many departments, including HR, purchasing and accounting. A true Oregonian, she loves the rain; her love for quiet spaces extends to her favorite retreat: Moolack Shores on the Oregon Coast.

Network Operations Center & Project Manager


From biking, skiing, and running with his two dogs to spending time with his kids…Chris thrives in environments with lots of activity. This makes him the perfect fit for Sterling. He gets the fun job of interacting with our customers while keeping our projects rolling smoothly in the back end of the house. When Chris needs a break from the bustle of work, you can find him in Bend biking or skiing.

The aha moment. That instant when the light bulb goes on for the customer as he’s working out technology solution for them. That’s what Geoff lives for with his customers as they work together to find just the right answer to a need or a problem. A wealth of information, Geoff is eager and well-suited to find ways to help exceed his customers’ expectations. After hours, he loves “the usual vices” that Portland has to offer — strong coffee, craft beer, and its adventurous food scene.

Mike Lowry

Integrity, honesty and loyalty are qualities that Mike admires—and exemplifies. His biggest passion is to be able to connect people with solutions that make their business days easier and more productive . After hours, he loves to ski, hang out with his family and is actively involved in Young Life. When it’s time for a special trip out of town, Mike loves to spend time with his family on Lopez Island.

When Aaron isn’t engaged in computer programming, you may find him studiously ferreting out little-known gems from the Bible. That curiosity fuels his work here as he blends creativity with technical know-how to design complex phone systems for medium-to-large businesses and to help keep our VoIP systems the best in the industry. An avid walker, Aaron enjoys using the Tri-Met transit system and taking in the salt air at pedestrian-friendly Seaside, Oregon.

Andrew approaches each project as an opportunity to learn something new. It’s like playing with a vast Lego set, the pieces fit together in new and interesting ways every time. When he’s not in the office herding penguins, he’s at home, trying to keep up with a growing little boy.

When it comes to internet technology, if you’re thinking about your Internet connection, there’s probably something going wrong. At Sterling, we go one step further, fixing problems before you may even be aware they exist. Anthony is one of those people who makes it so, while at the same time helping customers resolve network issues over the phone. At the end of the week, he likes to kick back with his young family.

The way Brian sees it, every installation project is a little bit different.  He enjoys the variety and the fact every day he can face a new challenge.  That's a lot like how he likes to live life.  Basically, he's up for just about any outdoor activity in all four Oregon seasons - golf, biking, hiking, camping or skiing.  His favorite getaway, though, is Cannon Beach.

Richard is the guy with hundreds of questions and only one desire, to serve others. He is a problem solver by nature and loves a good challenge - a trait that endears him to our Sterling clients. When not at work, Richard finds pleasure in any and all things active and outdoors, including his latest hobby of landscape photography.

Whether he’s restoring antique cameras, building custom cars or shooting photos, the wheels are always turning for Kelly-Shane. In his capacity as a network engineer, he is a key piece in making things run smoothly for our clients. When it comes to down time, Kelly-Shane loves the local downtown Portland scene.

When it comes to solving problems in the ever-increasingly complex world of Internet technology, patience is a virtue. Nathan thrives in such situations, sticking patiently with situations that arise and persisting with them until they are resolved. And when it’s time to let off some steam, Nathan likes just about anything in the Northwest outdoors, from disc golf to camping, hiking and rock climbing. Every year or two, he joins a group of friends for a 100-mile rafting trip down the middle fork of Idaho’s Salmon River.

For Shannon, helping customers solve problems is a great way to utilize technology. Its also the very reason he loves coming to work every day. When he’s not helping others, you can find Shannon indulging in his second passion, food. Cooking different types of food from around the world allows him to be adventurous without ever leaving his kitchen.

He is known as Vince to many and as Frankie to a few. To our Sterling customers, he’s known as the guy taking care of all the back-end details to get their new phone systems up and running. Vince can be found in his off time using this same behind-the-scene approach in his involvement for a local anime convention.

Josh's energy and enthusiasm for life is hard to match. As a father of two little ones, spending time with his family is his first joy, yet, he still manages to fit in writing music, playing in a worship band and following all things that are science fiction. He brings this same spirit to work each day, in a quest to help each customer enjoy the benefits technology can bring to their business.

This training expert knows the system inside and out and loves to helping our customers. Outside of work, she stays busy with camping, hiking, tennis and pickle ball. Her favorite getaway is Pacific City where she can relax and watch the dory boats come and go.

For Jill, the warm family atmosphere at Sterling means it’s just that much easier for her to wear the many hats that keeps everything running smoothly. Like so many others on the Sterling team, she especially enjoys getting to know and help our customers. Her life is just as busy at home with her family, mentoring young women and playing as many sand volleyball games as time allows.

By assisting with accounting and other duties, Michelle is a key contributor to our harmonious atmosphere and smooth operation. An Oregonian, Michelle grew up in Tillamook County on one of its many dairy farms. Though she lives in the city now, she still seizes whatever opportunities she can to enjoy the country. One of her favorite escapes is to the rustic setting of nearby Olallie Lake on Mt. Hood.

George has been in the ministry for over thirty years and is propelled by his love of God. His greatest desire is to see each person fulfill their God given destiny. He has helped encourage and counsel individuals from many different walks in life in their quest to seek God’s grace. His mission at Sterling is simple: assist others in their quest to grow in maturity as they walk with the Lord and to do the Father’s business which simply boils down to loving God and loving each other.
